About Us

People to People Ministries is a husband and wife team - Dick and Joanne Fetzer. Together, they train and equip individuals to communicate more effectively.

Dick Fetzer earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University in 1967 and a Master's in Education from West Chester University in 1970. Since 1972, he has been a motivational and educational in-service speaker, addressing such topics as Personality Styles, Becoming a Positive People Builder, Multiple Intelligences, Classroom Management, and Interpersonal Communication Skills. In 2002, after 35 years as a public elementary school teacher, he "re-careered" and has been privileged to share his passion for teaching with college students at Lock Haven University, where he supervises student teachers and is an instructor in the Elementary Education Department.

Joanne Fetzer received a B.S. in Secondary Education from West Chester University in 1989. She also attended Rosedale Bible College, earning a certificate in World Missions in 1992. She has taught both high school English and English as a Second Language (ESL). She also assisted Dick in his third-grade classroom for more than two years. Other positions she has held include administrative assistant, development associate, student recruiter, and accounts payable manager. She currently works part-time as a clerical assistant for an appraiser.

Since 1999 Dick and Joanne have taught together in a variety of settings. They have a passion for enabling individuals to understand and appreciate themselves and others, as well as equipping them to communicate more effectively, whether at home, at work, or at church.

Dick's book Please Listen to Me! A Christian's Guide to Reflective Listening was released in June 2008. In it, Dick relates many personal experiences as he outlines the life-changing skill of reflective listening. To learn more about the book or how to purchase a copy, please click here.

When the Fetzers are not teaching or writing, they enjoy traveling, biking, reading, and spending time with their 10 grandchildren.

People to People Ministries strives to be flexible in its ability to present seminars in a variety of locations. As a team, Dick and Joanne are willing to present their seminars for educators as professional development or continuing education, for employees at small or large companies, for attendees at churches or retreats, and for private gatherings in homes. Dick and Joanne are also available to speak individually to men's or women's groups on topics related to learning styles and communication skills.

Please contact People to People Ministries if you'd like to learn more about hosting a seminar or scheduling a speaker for your event.
